Sorry I haven't been on in a month of sundays. When I'm not working I have been getting out to different spots with my kayak. Last week I was on the Maury River in pursuit of some SmallMouth Bass. We dropped the cars at both ends and floated from one spot to the other. This was a first for me since I usually exit where I enter. Even though the river was higher than normal and a bit cloudy it was a good trip. It was moving fairly quickly limiting your opportunities to fish certain spots effectively but we managed pretty well. You have to cross a succesion of rapids which made things interesting, especially since I was fishing on a borrowed sit-on-top for the first time. My friend Dave and I hooked into some nice Smallies before reaching the exit point where the Maury meets the James River. I would certainly reccomend this to anyone since the scenery was awesome with a backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
